WOW! We Are So Close Now. Building An Off Grid Post And Beam Building.
Переглядів 3 тис.5 годин тому
We are so close to having our post and beam building all closed in now, just a few more sheets of O.S.B. to install and the front will be all closed in. Then we just have a couple to install on the back...then we are pretty much all closed in. We are looking forward to having this all closed in for the winter. With any luck we can start the concrete next summer.

This is almost how we dreamed it would be, it took a lot of hard work and planning...but we are almost there.
WOW! Very Exciting. Can You Believe This? Our Post And Beam Building Is Almost All Framed In.

This took a lot of work to get this far..but we almost have the outside shell of our huge post and beam building all framed in. Although we all know this would have went faster if we had just bought our lumber, but no...we built our own equipment to harvest mill and lift all of our logs and lumber into place, plus we built this huge scaffold to work from as well.
WOW..This Scaffold We're Building For Our Off Grid Post And Beam Building Is Going To Be Massive.

Building the second half of this massive homemade wood scaffold so we can work on the front of our off grid post and beam building. All of this lumber we milled for this scaffold will be all re-used for other construction of this build.

We needed more lumber to continue building our Off Grid Post and Beam Building. This is how we supply enough lumber to keep going. I'm sorry about the audio...our microphone batteries died making this video.

Today was just one of those days where you try to get to projects that have been waiting for a while...fortunately this weather has allowed us a few hours to get some of them done.
WOW! Today Was Not A Good Day For Roofing. Building Our Off Grid Post And Beam Building.

Roofing in this weather was not a good idea, the weather went from rainy to windy then extremely hot and sunny all in one day. We just pushed through trying to get as much of this roof on as we could. Our Off Grid Post And Beam Building's Slowly coming along though.
WOW! What A Day....Building Our Off Grid Post And Beam Building.

Wow! This was a long day... we spent all day trying to get this one half of our gable end sheathed in on our off grid post and beam building. Part way through this day I almost fell 20 feet to the ground...luckily I did not. With any luck we can start milling more lumber very soon.

All I did was reach a little to far while twisting...and bam! I pulled something. Today It hurts pretty bad when I take a deep breath, it ended our day pretty quick so we didn't get much done on our Off Grid Post and Beam Building.

Today Heather and I are framing in the upper section of the south wall of our Off Grid Post and Beam Building. Reaching out to nail these thick planks proved harder than I thought it would be..I should have built the scaffold closer to the building.

Today We Framed in over the door opening..everything went great. We spent earlier that day adjusting our homemade scaffold...then we got to work. We'd also like to give Dave a huge thank you for donating the money to buy the rest of our roofing metal, we also had enough money left over to buy the O.S.B. for the front of the building as well.

Hello guys salutations from Allentown Pennsylvania great job guys love the job watch it from the very beginning
happy birthday cecil
Looks great 👍👍🇩🇰🇩🇰☕️☕️😁
Im surprised cecil you dont have a nail gun, saves a lot of hammer work for you and heather
To bad you’re not ambidextrous Cecil so you could swing 2 hammers at once 😃 and beautiful heather swings a hammer like Thor 😃
👍👍👍👍👍👌
Wow moving on fast .
Yay don’t you take the mike of you hat, we can hear you hoof and puffed.
Looking good 👍 😅😂
Alles gute zum Geburtstag und lass dich feiern und verwöhnen 👋👏🏻👍🏻🎂🎂🍰🍰🍰🙋♂️🇩🇪🤗
Love and enjoy watching your videos. May the lord bless and protect you and Heather and working on the homestead post and beam building and getting it enclosed
Another step closer. God bless.
What are you covering the OSB with?
Cecil your mic is not working
Hi, sorry I missed Cecils birthday yesterday. Many more of them. I love the work ethic you both have. No wonder Heather stays so slim. She is up and down that ladder all day long. Cecils arm must ache so much at the end of the day. It is not the lightest hammer that he uses. I admire his accuracy when he uses those back swings for awkward nails. Times nave changes in every way. In the days of the old wire or oval nails one did not hammer them in square to the surface as they pulled out so easily. One drove them in at aprox 30 degrees or so, so they gripped better. Modern ringed nails do much to prevent nails from being drawn back out of the timbers. Again good wishes for yesterday. Mike
🦾🎂♥👍🏽👍🏽
👍👍👍
Cecil, I added 2 , 1968 bombardier sidewalk plow vehicles to my homestead. What's your opinion of those for logging and plowing?
Looking better everyday.
It will not fall down for lack of nails. lol
You guys are very tenacious and you are getting some Awsome results😊
Happy Birthday Cecil you are getting there
i like it when you talk to each other Heather is a good helper Happy Birthday and God Bless
Hello George, thank you...I am glad you enjoy our conversations. Heather sure is, she is such a great partner. Thanks again. You have a great day. Cheers!
not going to put a window in the front there would let alot of light in ???????Happy Birthday Cecil for yesterday you said it was good glad Heather looked after you well
Hello Kriss, we would love to install two triangle shaped windows in the front where we are sheathing in now. The price of windows are out of reach at this time :-( Thanks again. You have a great day. Cheers!
🇳🇴👍👍👌
Thank you very much. Cheers!
Boy, Heather is getting pretty handy with the hammer. It amazes me how you two are able to work so high off the ground. I'd be shaking like the proverbial dog.
Hello Bob, she sure is...she is way better using her own hammer, my hammer is a little heavy for her. On the small scaffold we are about 19' off the ground...a person gets used to it after a while. Thanks again. You have a great day. Cheers!
I think that the hammer is a little heavy for Heather. You notice that she often holds the handle short of the end of the shaft. The most hammering I have seen Heather do was on the rafter build. She is no mean hammerer when she gets going. But I am a newby following this family. I started watching when flooring the first floor of this build. Mike
A day late and a dollar short happy birthday. God bless.
Hello Richard. Well thank you very much...I really appreciate it. You have a great day. Cheers!
Hi guys
Hello George. How are you today?
lawn looks great
Hello Rob, thank you very much. Cheers!
Happy Birthday
Currant bushes. Next spring, cut some stems off and just push them in the ground. They normally root very easily, and you instantly have more bushes for free..
i like your garden its great all the spare parts its very handy to have your very smart to be able to work on all those moters very intersting to watch Cecil
Going up pass your place next week to Mathenson, I'll wave. Building lookin good.
Happy birthday! Hope it was a great one.
My yard is the same have projects going on 😅
Why would you want to extend the house! 😮 Because when you get older you’re not going to be able to catch Heather when the house gets too big 😅lol remember women live longer than men lol love you guys!😅
Yeah we ain't raining or baking in the Sun are leaves are already fallen off our trees and your 216 John Deere tractor looks very nice I'd be fixing that up that to 216 John Deere tractor so you can blow some snow very good video thank you for the video
I think a little chicken compost around the base of your fruit trees might help them a lot
You and Heather have a great attitude about life. Don't change.
Things are looking good. And Happy Birthday Bud 🎂 🥳
Heather, tell him he is a Legend in his own mind
Hello, she already knows that lol. Cheers!
You two remind me of so many comedic couples. Always enjoy your content. Screw any who doesn’t understand why folks always collect spare parts and who cares. You do you and just understand haters gotta hate. Don’t lower yourself to address their comments. 😊
Danke 😊für das tolle Video 👋👏🏻👍🏻😊🙂🙋♂️🇩🇪🤗😁
There is a natural phenomenon called June drop. Mother Nature takes care of the tree by only supporting the best of the crop to maturity. The apples that have defects or some other issue drop off the tree in the May, June, July timeframe. The new growth formation on spruce/pine/fir trees is called a candle. Cheers! Whipple
Yup agree!
So nice to see the chickens and turkeys it’s part of the property we love to see. Congratulations soon the equipment will have a home.
Y'all have a nice home.
I’m right there in agreement with you Cecil. My wife of 44 years live pretty much the same as you and Heather. She doesn’t care about my stuff and I don’t criticize her housekeeping. Always good to have spare parts lying around. Enjoy your day buddy.
JD 216 would be good for snowblowing which is heavy on engine load. Also having machines set up for single use reduces the hours put on them. One for tilling, one for snow. Cast iron kohlers are common engines u should be able to find the right one for the case loader
Happy Birthday! We share the same Birthday 46 today .....here in Wisconsin enjoy your day!
